i went to a buddhist temple yesterday. it was a really positive experience, and the people were so kind. i'm probably going to return every sunday morning to meditate.

ive talked a bit about how im eating better (vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, in that order) but ive kinda felt compelled to take better care of my body in other ways too. i just bought some leave-in conditioner and my hair is so fluffy and nice. and it's nice not having it turn into a rat's nest after a day. i did some research on my hair type (long, thick, secretly curly), and it turns out that is especially prone to tangling and basically requires conditioner. i dont know beauty stuff but that seems true to me!
kind of had a bad week, mostly involving my car falling into a hole during a blizzard lol. waiting to hear back from the shop. in other news, it's given me a few extra days off.
i've been pescetarian for two years and managed to eat entirely vegetarian this past week. went out to eat with my family, and got sick looking at the meat. it's joever for me
watched one of my childhood vhs tapes with the vcr: 「らんま½ 決戦桃幻郷！花嫁を奪りもどせ！！」 had a good time reliving the nostalgia, though 10-year-old me probably should not have owned this lol
on a whim, i bought a combination vcr-dvd player at the thrift store for $25 (quite expensive). i have been trying to (re)build my physical media collection, and a working vcr was the biggest thing i've been missing. tragically, i have been seeing vcr players less and less. i was fully expecting it to not work - post-2002 combo players were often made cheaply, and i had never heard of the brand before (daewoo).
it fucking works! to my utter astonishment. i have not tried using the dvd side, as i have a dedicated dvd player (also thrifted). i'm so excited.
an experiment: i'm attempting a bizarre hybrid between a long-form blog and a microblog here. i wonder if it'll work!
